Wien Energie presented its highly practical backcasting approach, explaining how the company thinks backward from possible futures, draws conclusions, and uses these to set the course for the future. BMW provided a retrospective on the clear methodology of its Trend Radar over the past 10 years—the automaker not only collects trends but translates them into strategic decisions. Also impressive was the insight from ÖBB on how strategic foresight is embedded in such a large, traditional company and has a real impact.
During roundtable sessions, participants engaged in an open exchange with DB Systel (scenario analysis), PALFINGER (tool & trend management), and Aesculap Braun—here, too, the focus was on learning from different approaches and actively contributing.
